Hate Group Film Screening in Aegina
The poster below is currently outside the big Kritikos supermarket in Aegina town (English translation also below). There may be others elsewhere.
It is inviting people to a meeting tomorrow morning, Sunday 26th November 2023 at 11.30am at the First Primary School of Aegina.
It advertises a screening of a film called “The War On Children: The Comprehensive Sexuality Education Agenda”.
The film was produced by Family Watch International, a US-based Christian fundamentalist group with a history of campaigns against LGBTQ+ groups, feminism, and abortion rights.
The Southern Poverty Law Centre (SPLC), a widely respected US human rights group, has designated Family Watch International an “extremist hate group” for its anti-LGBTQ+ activism: www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/group/family-watch-international
According to the SPLC, Family Watch International is a well-known purveyor of homophobia, transphobia, and pseudoscience relating to sexuality and education.
“Comprehensive Sexual Education”, according to the Sexuality and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS), includes age-appropriate and medically accurate information on topics related to sexuality, including human development, relationships, abstinence, disease prevention, contraception and decision-making. It is used by hate groups to describe education which deviates from their idea of appropriate education for children, as part of their attacks on LGBTQ+ people.
The poster also mentions rainbowschool.gr, a Greek anti-homophobia organisation, which it presumably intends to criticise.
The poster says that the event is produced by the Citizen’s Group of Aegina in association with the Greek branch of World Freedom Alliance (https://worldfreedomalliance.org), an organisation which promotes conspiracy theories and pseudoscience, largely focussed on Covid-19 and anti-vaccination campaigns.

As a resident of Aegina, a queer person, and a parent, I am very disturbed that this film is being promoted inside one of Aegina’s schools.
I am asking you to share this information with others who may share these concerns, and, if you are able, to attend the screening tomorrow to share your concerns.

The video explores the agendas concealed behind the Global Education Program initiated by the World Health Organization and UNESCO.
Sexual education, whether through the family, whether as an element in religious instruction, or through secular education, aims in principle at enabling children to know themselves, both their mind and their body. This knowledge is necessary for exploration both of their potential and of the limitations they must place on those around them when they feel that they are being violated.
It is to be noted that the way this is being promoted internationally nowadays often does not have such characteristics. The guideliness tend to come - as is unfortunately today the case for almost all aspects of our lives - from supranational entities. Organizations often funded from dubious sources, staffed by "specialists" all too frequently unaccountable, dependent on corporate vested interests, often without any effective local educational, scientific and human input.
Let us not surrender to division on this question. It is not progress to leave our future and our children's future in the hands of others. A prerequisite for progress is that decisions in a modern "smart" society - since this is a term very much in use nowadays - should come from within that society, through public information provision and discussion and through heeding of reasonable proposals and objections. \
