The European Union decided last weekend a 20 x higher radioactivity permitted in products from Japan. Imposing special conditions governing the import of feed and food originating in or consigned from Japan following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power station Till now a radioactivity of maximum 600 bequerel (caesium 134 and caesium 137) per kilo was permitted. Since last weekend they raised this norm suddenly till 12.500 becquerel per kilo, what makes is 20 times higher. This upgrade is settled down in an Emergency Ordinance of the EU, starting from March 27th : eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2011:080:0005:0008:EN:PDFSo....... NO PROBLEM for Europe ! ?
